Undefeated “Die Basters” loses to Pirates
Pirates launched a jaw dropping performance on Saturday, beating log leaders “Die Basters” 2-1 in the social soccer league.
Diego Fransman made Pirates take an early lead at half time with 1-0 after a successful penalty kick in the 32nd minute.
Fransman again “danced through the defense” in the second half and scored the second goal of the match in the 46th minute after a cross kick. Basters came back in the 55th minute and scored a goal by Samuel Goagoseb’s penalty shot.
Die Basters coach noted: “football is a game of a up and downs. Things haven’t gone our way but regardless I’m satisfied as this would remain as a learning experience. Since there’s time for recuperation, watch out the Basters will return”.
On earlier matches, Coastal Uranium took on Omakalo in the social football league which resulted in a goalless draw (0-0).
Kuisebmond Social Club competed with the Muncipality in a friendly match final, ending in a neck to neck 2-2.
Siremo Carlos and Haraseb Reginald scored in the 10th minute and 22nd minute respecitvely in favour of Municipality,
Heinzo Khi-Khoeb and Alfredo Sakaria from Kuisebmond social club scored in the 16min and 32 min.
