Police seeks help in tracing family members after discovering body of 81 year old

The police in Erongo region is appealing to the public to assist in tracing family members of Swakopmund resident Herbert Wolfgang Ralph Fritz (81). He was found dead in his residence at Marlene Court number 23, industrial area on Wednesday.
Fritz was a German speaking Namibian. His body was already partially decomposed when he was discovered.
According to deputy commissioner Erastus Iikuyu, police regional crime investigations coordinator for Erongo, the gardener and neighbours alerted the police after they detected a foul smell emanating from the apartment. The deceased was staying alone and the neighbours claim that have not seen Fritz for the past three weeks.
“Police officers broke a window to gain entrance and found all doors locked from the inside,” Iikuyu said. A partially decomposed body was found in the apartment. The body was taken to the Walvis Bay police morgue for a post mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
The police is yet to trace the deceased’s next of kin. We appeal to the public to assist in tracing family members,” Iikuyu added.
