New SG for NAKU

The Namibia Karate Union (NAKU) elected a new Secretary-General at its Extra-Ordinary General Meeting that was held in Windhoek.

At the well-attended EGM preceded by NAKU, President Cornelius D’Alton approved the change made in the financial year from 30 June to 31 December each year and discussed some proposed constitutional amendments. Ace Mutelo was elected as the new Secretary-General of the Union. NAKU also elected an Athletes Representative that will sit on the NAKU Executive Committee whilst the vacant positions of treasurer and team manager are yet to be filled by the Executive Committee.
NAKU long-serving former coach Leonard Martin and Sensei Wikus Ober-holster, were both confirmed as chairperson of the technical committees and referees commission respectively. The union is set to host the Region 5 championships in the coastal town of Swakopmund from 23 to 25 of next month.
