Groundbreaking of new Hangana fish factory

The Minister of Fisheries and Marine Re-sources, Bernhard Esau, is expected to officiate at the groundbreaking ceremony in Walvis Bay on Monday of a new fish factory constructed by Hangana Seafood Processors.

The new factory will more than double the company’s current production capacity of 22 000 tons per annum and will also allow for other fish species, other than hake, to be processed.
The new factory is expected to be completed by the close of 2020 and in many instances would count among the biggest and most advanced in Africa.
The Minister will be welcomed by the Executive Chairman of the O&L Group Sven Thieme (Hangana is a subsidiary of O&L Group) and Hangana Managing Director Herman Theron.
